Gull Pond Hike

Gull Pond Hike

Brief Description: A short and easy trail to a beautiful pond. The trail ends at a rock outcrop with views of the
entire pond. From this outcrop the views of the boulders and sheer cliffs across the pond are impressive.

Trail Notes: This trout-stocked pond is located in the Pharaoh Lake Wilderness Area. For the effort to reach it,
there is not a prettier pond in the Adirondacks. The gentle terrain and the short distance make this an
excellent destination with children. At the pond you can continue your hike by following paths around the
shore. For those who are skilled at route finding, it is also possible to climb the ledges across the pond. If you
are looking for a longer day, combine this hike with the near-by Spectacle Ponds Trail.

Trail in Winter: Gull Pond is an excellent snowshoe or ski destination.

Trailhead: Located on the east side of Adirondack Road. Adirondack Road is plowed in the winter.

Directions: From the Adirondack General Store in Adirondack, NY, travel north for 7.1 miles to a parking lot on
the right.

Parking: There is a small parking lot just off the road.

Distance: 1 mile round trip.

Time Estimate: 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Elevation Gain: Minimal.
