Enhanced Web Listings


The North Warren Chamber of Commerce sponsors and maintains a web listing service available to any group, organization or business in Chestertown, Pottersville, Brant Lake and Adirondack; plus North Warren Chamber of Commerce members in any area.

The standard listing includes a brief description limited to 50 words in one paragraph, along with address and contact information. In addition, Chamber members gain exclusive thumbnails, photos and a formatted long description.

A link to your web site can be included in your web listing, upon confirmation of a reciprocal link to the Chamber. Just add a link from your site to to http://chamber.northwarren.com, then send us your web site address.


Thumbnails

Thumbnail images are small eye-catchers used to draw attention to specific content. They are currently used in the news articles list, and to highlight Chamber member web listings. For fairness and visual consistency, thumbnails are limited in size as a design choice—they can be no wider than 80 pixels and no higher than 60 pixels.

To add a thumbnail to your web listing, follow the steps below (or ask someone with the necessary software to help):

  1. Crop or resize your selected image to be no wider than 80 pixels and no higher than 60 pixels. Use simple images—this process degrades fine details.
  2. Save the image in JPEG format, with a resolution of 72 dpi.
  3. Rename the image to membername-thumb.jpg, for example BobsBakery-thumb.jpg or FredsFirewood-thumb.jpg.
  4. Email your prepared image to the North Warren Chamber of Commerce and we'll add it to your web listing.

Photos

We are currently developing a layout template for member web listings, which will include include space for two photos of uniform size. Details can be found right here, once the template is developed and tested.


Formatted Long Description

The layout template for member web listings will include the standard short description paragraph and two photos of uniform size, with the remainder of the page available for a long description.

The long description supports standard XHTML formatting; including headers, bold, italics, and lists. To recuce the need for site visitors to scroll down, long descriptions should be limited to four paragraphs.
