Boating With such a large variety of waterways, boating in the Adirondacks has a long and storied history. From the development of the indigenous Adirondack Guideboat, an essential tool to business and transportation in the 1800s and early 1900s , to the ever-growing popularity of leisure craft, boating was and still is a much practiced tradition in the Adirondacks. State Boat Launches in North Warren Brant Lake - on Route 8. One mile northeast of the Hamlet of Brant Lake. Hard surface launch ramp. Parking for 11 cars and trailers. Schroon Lake - in Horicon. Off Route 9 just north of the Hamlet of Pottersville on County Road 62. Hard surface launching ramp. Parking for 49 cars and trailers. State Boat Launches in Surrounding Areas Fourth Lake - Warren County, Luzerne Campground. On Route 9N, 8 miles southwest of the Village of Lake George. Hand launching. No motors permitted. Parking for 3 cars. Hudson River - Warren County. On East River Drive, 2 1/2 miles south of the Village of Luzerne. Hard surface launching ramp. Parking for 30 cars and trailers. Lake George - Warren County, Rogers Rock Campground. On Route 9N, 3 miles north of the Hamlet of Hague. Concrete ramp. Parking for 24 cars and trailers. Lake George - Warren County, Northwest Bay Brook. On Route 9N, 4 miles north of the Village of Bolton Landing. Hand launching. Parking for 15 cars. |
