North Warren is a winter paradise, offering exceptional skiing and snowboarding opportunities for beginners and experts alike.


Gore Mountain

Located just 15 minutes away in North Creek, Gore Mountain offers alpine, cross-country and backcountry skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing in the winter, and mountain biking and scenic gondola rides in the summer. With 79 trails, 11 lifts and a 2,100-foot vertical drop, Gore has the greatest vertical within a four-hour drive of metropolitan New York.


Town of Chester Recreation Area

Known locally as Dynamite Hill, the Town of Chester Recreation Area has a rope tow, lighted ski hill, ice skating rink, warming lodge, lighted cross-country trails and a toboggan run for the non-skiers -- and is free and open to the public. The entrance is located on Route 8, just a few miles west of Exit 25 on I-87.


Hickory Ski Center

Just down the road in Warrensburg, Hickory Ski Center is an old-fashioned, family-oriented ski mountain, which offers a variety of terrain for all ability levels.


Whiteface Mountain

Olympic-class skiing can be found within an hour and half drive in Wilmington, NY, at Whiteface Mountain. At 3,430 feet, it has the greatest vertical drop in the east. With 220 skiiable acres, including 35 acres of out-of-bounds skiing, Whiteface truly is extreme eastern skiing.
