About
The Friends of Horicon Library is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization formed in 1987, dedicated to supporting library activities, promoting reading, and fostering cultural enrichment in the community. The Friends raise funds to sponsor the Summer Library Program and Children’s and Teen programming.
Fundraisers include the year-round book sale, bake and craft sales, seasonal raffles, and ongoing concession sales.
With grants and donations from local businesses, the Friends have been able to provide financial support to the library for specific purchases, such as the fountain in front of City Hall and the children’s area creative play area. Over the years, the Friends have also focused spending to meet shortfalls in collections.
Membership
Membership is open to the public, and joining is easy. Pick up a Friends brochure at the library, complete the brief membership form with your name, address, and phone number, and return it with your $10 single dues or $20 family dues. Members may attend meetings, but may also contribute in other ways such as helping at fundraisers, providing program refreshments, or simply by being a member.
